On the 45^th day of 2008, let’s take a minute to reflect on 2007.  Mixtures of Joy and Sorrow we daily do pass through.   We at Union were saddened by the death of Sister Mildred Phillips Dangar on January 2, 2007.  She had spent her last few years in the Cumming Nursing Center with Alzheimer’s.  Brother Ralph visited her every day.  She and Ralph married on April 4, 1941 and she joined Union in 1949.

Also in January, Brother Troy Place and Sister Beki Hanson were married in California and we were blessed to host the North Georgia Fellowship meeting. 

On February 4th, Brother Larry Luker joined the Church. The Church also surprised me by celebrating the  25^th anniversary of my ordination.  I was greatly surprised and blessed with a very generous love gift.

Brother Larry Luker’s wife Sister Millie joined the Church on March 11^th and she and Brother Larry were both baptized.

April started the renovation of the Church building.  We started with new windows and by August the restrooms had been redone and the interior of the building had been painted.

August was very busy with our Annual meeting on the 3^rd and 4^th and Little River Association the 16^th – 18^th.  Brother Marty was also called to continue to be our Pastor. Gary and Lori Floyd and their family joined Union  and Rachel Floyd was baptized in September.

September brought about new technology to Union.  Brother Thomas Hart set up a website that includes the sermons at Union.

In November, Brother Jonathan Paul Harter joined the Church and was baptized.

By the end of the year, the renovation of the Church is complete with new carpet, lighting, pew covers, and plantation shutters.

We were blessed to have the following babies born at Union:

Mckinley and Mary Elizabeth Daniel –parents  Louis and Jen Daniel

Maggie Jones – parents Jonathan and Tiffany Jones

Noah St.Germain – parents Justin and Ashley St.Germain

Enslie, Tate and Kayla Padgett –parents Zach and Brook Padgett

Kristen Hart –parents Thomas and Helen Hart

Hadassah Place –parents Troy and Beki Place  (born January 2008)

We have wonderful Bible Study on Wednesday nights. We are reading through the Bible verse by verse and are now in Judges.

Three times a year we have an outing at the Church.  The second Sunday in March, July and November.  Please mark on you calendar on March 9^th we will have a pancake supper.

Every 4^th Sunday night there is a Fellowship meeting that rotates with the Churches in the Little River Association and Nancy Creek and sometimes other Churches.

On March 1^st. we will have a work day at the Church.

North Georgia Ministers Meeting will be hosted at Union November 11^th,12^th, and 13^th .

Little River Union meeting April 25^th and 26^th at Cross Roads and the

Association August 14,15,16^th at Boiling Springs.
